Lab Visits.
The Srivastava Lab routinely hosts visits from prominent scientists and the families of our members. Whether sharing research ideas or celebrating personal milestones, these visits reflect our lab's commitment to both academic excellence and a supportive, inclusive culture.
All visits are conducted under ‘Cold Lab’ protocols where active research is paused, biohazards materials are secured, and surfaces are decontaminated. This allows us to celebrate our academic and personal milestones in a safe, transparent environment that reflects our inclusive lab culture
February 15, 2026: Dr. S was delighted to host prospective PhD student (and lab’s current Barry Goldwater Scholar), Bella and her mother, Rosa, for a deep dive into our research, potential PhD plan, and a tour of our facilities. After the formal lab visit, the hospitality continued at the Srivastava residence for a family lunch, where we were able to meet the smallest members of the Vasquez family, their beloved dogs, Emmie and Charlotte! We pride ourselves on a culture that welcomes not just the scientist, but their entire support system.
October 20, 2025: Dr. S hosts Dr. Cynthia Reinhart-King (Department Chair & John W. Cox Chair of Bioengineering at Rice University) for her seminar on metabolism, microenvironment, and metastasis + Las Brisas dinner!
May 5, 2025: Dr. Christy K. Holland (Internal Medicine Professor at University of Cincinnati & Director of the Center for Cardiovascular Research) visits the lab after her seminar on ultrasound image-guided catheter-directed therapies to treat cardiovascular disease!
