Education & Outreach Activities
The Srivastava Lab actively participates in several educational outreach programs aimed at engaging high school and undergraduate students in biomedical and engineering research. Each summer, the lab hosts participants through the Clark Scholars Program and the Engineering Research Internship Experiences, offering hands-on research opportunities for high school students. At the undergraduate level, the lab mentors students through the American Heart Association’s Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (AHA SURE) program.
In addition to summer research initiatives, the Srivastava Lab contributes to broader STEM education by participating in STEM CORE events at Texas Tech University (TTU), promoting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics engagement across diverse student groups.

Outreach Activities at Texas Tech University.
November 6, 2025: Our lab engaged K-12 students and their families at TTU STEM CORE’s Family STEM Night with hands-on activities to learn about fluorescence and phosphorescence. 🌟 Our booth was a hit, featuring luminescence painting and microscope slides, UV-activated borax crystals, and a bioluminescent jellyfish demo! Great work to Bella for designing our booth and to Mahy, Asma, and Hasnat for hosting the demonstrations.
