  • Indrajit Srivastava (Assistant Professor)

    Indrajit moved from Champaign, IL to Lubbock, TX to start as an Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University and fulfill his life-long dream of running his own research lab. In his free time, Indrajit likes watching and playing soccer, and his an ardent Arsenal football club fan who play in the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League.

  • Asma Harun (PhD Student)

    Asma is an international student from Bangladesh. She did her undergraduate in Bangladesh from University of Dhaka majoring in Physics (2019). She did her M.S. with thesis (2023) at Texas Tech University (TTU) in Physics under the supervision of Dr. Jerzy Blawzdziewicz focusing on particle transport by cilia arrays in biological environment. Asma starts her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering from Fall 2023 in the Srivastava Lab where she will be using modeling and experimental tools work on designing protein-based nanocarriers for image-guided surgery .

    Asma loves travelling a lot. Mountain hiking, trekking, and camping are her favorite things to do in vacations.

  • Nathaniel Bendele (Undergrad)

    Nathaniel moved to Lubbock from San Antonio, TX and is a senior biochemistry major at Texas Tech. Nate is also sterile compounding technician and currently employed at Covenant Medical Center. Nate spends most of their free time outside lost in nature or hanging out with friends. In the Srivastava Lab, Nathaniel will be developing tumor-cell mimicking phantoms for evaluating NIR-I/NIR-II fluorescence agents for image-guided cancer surgery.

  • Isabella Vasquez (Undergrad)

    Isabella is a native Houstonian and in her second year at Texas Tech University. Isabella is an honors Biochemistry major, minoring in Forensics Science on a Pre-Pharmacy track. Isabella loves science, but in free time likes to paint, hike, garden, and play with her three rescue dogs. In the Srivastava Lab, as a URS Scholar, Isabella will be develop biomimetic lipid nanoparticles and use them for image-guided surgical intervention of ovarian cancers.

  • Jonathan Djuanda (Undergrad)

    Jonathan is a 4th year Pre-Med student majoring in Biochemistry at Texas Tech University, with a relentless commitment to understanding healthcare intricacies through hands-on hospital experience and collaborations with esteemed professionals. Fueled by passion for biology, chemistry, and medicine, Jonathan expects to catalyze positive global change by remaining at the forefront of scientific breakthroughs. In the Srivastava Lab, Jonathan will be developing tumor-cell mimicking phantoms for evaluating NIR-I/NIR-II fluorescence agents for image-guided cancer surgery.

  • Victor Hernandez (Undergrad)

    Victor is a second-year undergraduate student at Texas Tech University. He is currently pursuing a bachelor's in mechanical engineering and hopes to apply to the accelerated bachelor's to master's in Mechanical Engineering program at Texas Tech. Victor has a deep passion for math and science and enjoys constantly learning new topics dealing with math and science. During his free time, he likes to watch YouTube videos on different topics involving science, and he also enjoys nature walks. In the Srivastava Lab, Victor will be leading the efforts of developing microfluidic-based platform for creating tunable biomimetic nanocarriers.

  • McKenzie Carroll (Undergrad)

    McKenzie is graduating from Texas Tech University in May with a Bachelor's degree in Cell & Molecular Biology. Outside of academia, McKenzie enjoys spending time with loved ones, indulging in her favorite TV shows, and cherishing moments with her canine companion, Topanga. In the Srivastava Lab, McKenzie will be involved in in vitro
    assessments of protein-based nanoparticles, including their biocompatibility and cellular internalization uptake behavior.

  • Kennedy Norkiewicz (Undergrad)

    Kennedy is an undergraduate in biochemistry at Texas Tech with a dual minor in Forensics and Biology. Kennedy was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. In their free time, Kennedy loves to travel, watch sports, and spend time with their pets, and have a French bulldog named Delilah. Kennedy is on the Pre-Med track to be a Forensic Pathologist or a Surgeon. In the Srivastava Lab, Kennedy will develop protein-modulated afterglow nanoparticles for surgical interventions.

    Ken is currently a Biochemistry major in his second year at Texas Tech University. Born in the suburbs of Chicago, IL, he has lived in various areas, including Boston, Massachusetts, and Osaka, Japan. In his free time, Ken enjoys eating delicious foods, weightlifting, and playing video games. As he continues his academic journey, Ken is eager to discover and pursue his interests within the field of Biochemistry. In the Srivastava Lab, as a TrUE Scholar, Ken will design protein-based nano carriers for image-guided interventions.
